News Corp.'s Orbis Acquires U.K. Games Firm Electracade

London - Orbis, a provider of interactive gaming and betting technologies, announced that it has acquired U.K.-based online games developer Electracade for $3.8 million in cash.

The deal also includes further consideration, payable upon certain future performance criteria.

Orbis is a unit of pay-TV technology firm NDS (NASD: NNDS), which in turn is majority-owned by News Corporation (NYSE: NWS).

The company's OpenBet software can be deployed across online, mobile, retail and interactive TV platforms.
