Los Angeles - Entertainment trade publication The Hollywood Reporter, owned by the Nielsen Company, has laid off more than a dozen employees, the majority of whom were part of the company's editorial staff, Variety reported.

The cuts included managing editor Harley Lond, chief TV critic Barry Garron, film and technology write Carolyn Giardina, and a number of copy editors and production staff.

Sources inside the publication told Variety the layoffs are part of a larger workforce reduction at Nielsen.
