Report: Microsoft to Introduce "Zune Phone" at CES

New York - Microsoft will introduce a new mobile phone that combines elements of its Zune digital media player, Danger's Sidekick device and additional "motion enhancement features," Barron's reported, citing Global Equities Research analyst Trip Chowdhry.

The announcement could be made by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer during his keynote address kicking off the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January.

CNBC reported last month that Microsoft is working on a project codenamed "Pink," that purportedly combined the Zune and the Sidekick, which Microsoft owns as a result of its acquisition of Danger back in February.

The same CNBC report said the device could be introduced at CES, or pushed into February; other reports have speculated the device may be unveiled at the 3GSM conference in February, and may not ship for another year.
