New York - Several amateur video producers on YouTube (NASD: GOOG) that
were invited to join the company's "partner" program and share in
advertising revenue are now earning six-figure incomes from the site, The New
York Times reported.
They include 33-year-old Michael Buckly, who quit his day
job in September to work full time on his YouTube show "What the
Buck?" and 27-year-old Cory Williams ("smpfilms"), who told The
Times his videos are earning him $17,000 to $20,000 per month from a mix of
ads, sponsorships and product placements.
