London
- Eidos, the game publisher responsible for franchises including "Tomb
Raider," said on Monday that Time Warner Entertainment (NYSE: TWX) has purchased an
additional 10 million shares of the company, bringing its total holding to
19.9% of Eidos, Reuters reported.
The move prompted speculation in several
media outlets that Time Warner is gearing up to acquire the company.
Along with
Time Warner, other prospective suitors of Eidos have been rumored to include Electronic
Arts, Ubisoft and Square Enix.
