Los Angeles - The man accused of leaking songs from the at-the-time unreleased Guns N' Roses album "Chinese Democracy" on his blog has pleaded guilty to a federal copyright violation, the Associated Press reported.

A previous report stated that the Los Angeles prosecutor had agreed to reduce the charges against 27-year-old Kevin Cogill, proprietor of the blog Antiquiet, from a felony to a misdemeanor.

Cogill agreed to plead guilty to a lesser charge in return for a recommendation that he receive only probation, instead of the up to a year in federal prison that is applicable under the statute.
