- IMDB, the movie credits and informational database owned by Amazon.com, has
acquired Box Office Mojo, a website that tracks how much money movies make at
the box office.
Financial terms of the transaction, which was completed back in
July, were not disclosed.
Founded in 1999, Burbank, Calif.-based Box Office
Mojo now counts over 1 million unique monthly visitors.
Amazon's IMDB will add
the company's data to the range of movie-related data it offers.
