New York - EchoStar's Sling Media plans to release a public beta version of its SlingPlayer Mobile for BlackBerry on Dec. 30. The software will allow BlackBerry owners with a Slingbox connected to their set-tops, TiVos or other similar devices to access their premium home channels via their mobile devices over a Wi-Fi or 3G connection.
