San Francisco - Sling Media, a unit of EchoStar (NASD: SATS) that develops media place-shifting devices and services, announced on Tuesday that it will release a version of its mobile software for Apple's (NASD: AAPL) iPhone later in the first quarter. The company recently released its SlingPlayer Mobile for the BlackBerry, allowing owners of the smartphones and a Slingbox set-top to access their home premium channels and DVR recordings on the go.
