marketplace AdMob on Wednesday announced the launch of download tracking for iPhone
applications, which will enable advertisers to accurately monitor when users
click on an ad that leads to a completed download of the advertised
application. The company said that early results show that ads for free applications
have an average conversion rate of 10%, compared with a 1% average for paid
applications, and that games generally have higher conversion rates than other
categories of applications.
