Montreal - Airborne Mobile announced on Monday that it has raised about $1.64 million in new funding from iNovia Capital for its mobile content development business.

The ten-year-old, Montreal-based company develops wireless content for partners including Food Network and Fox's "Family Guy."

Airborne's management reacquired control of Airborne six months ago from Japan's Cybird, and soon after changed its name from Airborne Entertainment to Airborne Mobile, "to better reflect the wider scope of its operations and the planned expansion of its reach."

Upcoming releases include an application for home buyers and real estate agents; an interactive cable TV network; and a mobile phone conversation privacy application.
