Los Angeles - SocialVibe, a service that lets users support causes through brand "sponsorships" on their social media profiles, has raised $8 million in its second round of venture capital financing, led by JAFCO Ventures.

Previous backer Redpoint Ventures also participated in the round, funds from which will be used to accelerate product development, as well as to grow consumer and business partner relations.

Los Angeles-based SocialVibe counts nearly 500,000 members, whose profiles are generating an estimated over 100 million endorsement impressions each month.

Brand partners for sponsorships include Coca-Cola, Sony Pictures, Sprint and Kraft Foods, and over 30 non-profits have received donations through the service, including the World Wildlife Fund and Stand Up to Cancer.
