Los Angeles - Five-year-old Los Angeles radio station
Indie 103.1 FM this week announced that it would cease broadcasting over the
air, and instead provide only a Web feed of music programming. The stream will be devoid of DJs
like former Sex Pistol Steve Jones, host of the station's popular
"Jonesy's Jukebox." "Because of changes in the radio industry
and the way radio audiences are measured, stations in this market are being
forced to play too much Britney, Puffy and alternative music that is neither
new nor cutting edge," reads a note on the station's website.
