San Diego - Sony Corp.'s Sony Online Entertainment announced that it has acquired "PoxNora," an online collectible strategy game, as well as other game development assets from Tucson-based Octopi.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

"PoxNora," which has seen seven expansions since its launch, "combines aspects of traditional card games with turn-based strategy games to give players a unique game experience."

Sony said that members of the Octopi team will form the core of a new Sony Online Entertainment studio in Tucson

The new studio will both support PoxNora and work with SOE's Denver studio on new trading card and strategy game projects.
