Slacker Gets $5M for Web Radio Service, Portable Player

San Diego - Slacker, the developer of a desktop streaming music player and Wi-Fi-enabled portable music player device, has raised $5 million in new bridge financing, VentureWire reported, citing a regulatory filing.

Investors included previous backers Sevin Rosen Funds, Rho Ventures, Centennial Ventures, Mission Ventures and Austin Ventures.

The San Diego-based company has to date raised about $58.5 million in venture capital. In addition to its Web-based radio service, Slacker also markets a complementary $200 portable player.

The company recently released a mobile version of its service for the iPhone.
