Los Angeles - More layoffs in the media space were announced on Thursday as Disney said that it will cut 5% of the staff in the Disney-ABC TV Group. Disney Interactive Studios also confirmed for GameSpot that around 50 employees in total will be affected by cuts in the company's Propaganda Games, Avalance Software and Fall Line Studios locations.

Group President Anne Sweeney sent an e-mail to the approximately 7,000 television group employees, LA Times reports, saying that after months of trying to adjust the business to the worsening economic climate, "we're now faced with the harsh reality of having to eliminate jobs in some areas."

More layoffs are anticipated in the coming months, as ABC Entertainment Group President Stephen McPherson evaluates staffing at the newly consolidated studio and network operation, writes the LA Times.
