Amsterdam - MMO Life, the operator of a network of regional portals for multiplayer online game players, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $1.3 million in initial funding from investors including Klaas Kersting and Alexander Roesner, of Gameforge, and ex-Endemol media executive Pim Schmitz.

Founded in November 2008, Amsterdam-based MMO Life's first portal, MMOHub.org, offers news, reviews and demos for teen-focused, free-to-play titles.

The company plans to launch other portals targeting tweens and adults later this year.

MMO Life will use the funds to accelerate deployment of its gaming portals, build its team and make third-party investments.
