New York
- Outbrain, a provider of personalized recommendations of blogs and other
published online content, announced on Wednesday that it has raised $12 million
in its second round of funding, led by Carmel Ventures.
Previous backers Gemini Israel Funds, Lightspeed Venture Partners and GlenRock Israel also participated in the round. New York-based Outbrain offers a free widget to bloggers and online publishers, which their readers can then use to rate content and access personalized reading recommendations. "Our recommendation algorithms constantly improve as more blogs install our widgets and more readers interact with them," the company wrote on its blog. "This investment will enable us to significantly increase our market share, and thus continue to improve our recommended links on blogs and publishers using our service."
