Calif. - Offerpal Media, a
provider of online ad technology for social media and video games, said on
Tuesday that it has closed a $15 million second round of financing, led by D.E.
Shaw Ventures.
Previous backers InterWest Partners and North Bridge Venture Partners also participated in the round, which the company will use to further develop its monetization platform, and create more tools and services for customers. Founded in 2007, Fremont, Calif.-based Offerpal says it works with more than 800 social media publishers, placing third-party applications for brands on Facebook, MySpace, Bebo and other social networks. The company also helps brands market themselves on social gaming sites and within virtual worlds operated by WeeWorld, Acclaim Games and Aeria Games.
