Bath, England - TheFilter, the music and media recommendation service backed by musician Peter Gabriel, has raised an undisclosed sum of new funding, PaidContent reported.

Investors included Gabriel himself, Eden Ventures, Banner Corp. chairman Roderick Banner, former Loudeye CEO Michael Brochu, and We7.com founder John Taysom.

Launched in 2007, U.K.-based TheFilter offers to monitor the music and videos that a user plays, and then offers recommendations on other media they might like.

The company had previously raised about $6.8 million in funding.
