Following P2P Leaks, U2 Posts Stream of New Album on MySpaceAuthored by Mark Hefflinger on February 20, 2009 - 12:14pm.
Los Angeles
- U2's forthcoming album "No Line on the Horizon" has shown up on
peer-to-peer file-sharing networks a week before its official release, despite
the lack of any review copies being distributed, TorrentFreak reported.
The band tried to eliminate the usual sources of leaks, opting to host listening parties for journalists in lieu of the standard review copies, but over the summer several of the tracks surfaced online after frontman Bono allegedly played them too loudly on the stereo at his French villa. Possibly to counter the availability of the album on BitTorrent and LimeWire, the band posted the entire album for streaming on MySpace on Friday.
