Calif. - BridgeCo, a provider of networked
entertainment technology, said on Thursday that it has raised $6 million in new
financing.
All of the company's previous backers participated, including Advent Venture Partners, Balderton Capital, Cipio Partners, Earlybird Venture Capital, ETV Capital, Fidelity Ventures, Intel Capital and Wellington Partners. Huntington Beach, Calif.-based BridgeCo's JukeBlox platform, which facilitates streaming digital music in the home, has been adopted by consumer electronics makers including Pioneer, Harman Kardon, JBL, Denon and Philips. "In the very near future every radio, stereo and audio system will have a network interface and BridgeCo will be the backbone technology that drives many of these consumer products," said BridgeCo CEO Gene Sheridan. "BridgeCo has already shipped more than a million units of its networked audio processors, and currently supplies over half of the world's global brands that manufacture networked audio products."
