- Japanese mobile carrier Softbank Mobile plans to launch a promotion this week
that will offer a free 8GB Apple iPhone 3G to customers who sign up for a
two-year contract, TechCrunch reported.
The 16B iPhone will also be discounted
to $118, from $350; the 8GB used to retail for $235.
Softbank Mobile is also
restructuring its data plan, so that new and existing subscribers will now pay
$45.60 per month, down from $62.
