Authored by Jay Baage on February 27, 2009 - 8:10am.

The South By Southwest (SxSW) conferences and festival begin March 13 in Austin, Texas, and will go on until March 22. DMW is happy to once again bring you the hottest list of buzz bands, courtesy of music publicist Fiona Bloom (after the break). If you can't attend, make sure to check out some of these bands and other news from SxSW on the official SxSW YouTube channel. Enjoy!

I am very impressed with the amount of great quality music this year. The line ups on these showcases are stellar and some of the indie indie unsigned acts this year are poised to be stars. I had a rough time shaving down this list of several hundred to my top 50 was virtually impossible so I’ve come up with SEVERE 70(HOT TO DEATH). I’ve had a running list for a few years now and these are always printed and spotted at several shows amongst audience members...Love it!
