New York - Media conglomerate Time Warner (NYSE: TWX) is in talks with a number of fellow content providers, as well as cable, satellite and telecom providers, on a new service that would provide free, on-demand Web access for subscribers to premium pay-TV content, AdAge.com reported. "If you want to watch your favorite TV network or shows through broadband on any device -- PCs or mobile -- you can do it as long as you subscribe to any multichannel provider," Time Warner CEO Jeffrey Bewkes told AdAge.

Time Warner, which owns HBO, Cartoon Network and other cable channels, is currently discussing content partnerships for the "TV Everywhere" service with Viacom (NYSE: VIA), Disney (NYSE: DIS), News Corp. (NYSE: NWS), NBC Universal (NYSE: GE), Rainbow Media and Discovery Communications (NASD: DISAD).

The company is already conducting a test of TV Everywhere in Milwaukee, Wisc., and hopes to expand the trial later this year.

Major cable TV provider Comcast is also reportedly working on a similar service to provide online access to pay-TV channels to subscribers.
