Los Angeles - Digital production studio ManiaTV has shut down operations, following several rounds of layoffs and attempts to sell the company, Mediaweek reported, citing sources close to the company.

Founded in 2004, Los Angeles-based ManiaTV has produced online shows featuring celebrities including one-time MTV host Tom Green, and Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro.

While the company had secured advertising relationships with brands such as Adidas, AT&T, Doritos and Verizon, sources told Mediaweek that that the ad business had recently dried up.

ManiaTV last raised $5.5 million in March 2008, but underwent several rounds of layoffs late last year, and put itself up for sale in February.
