Sunnyvale, Calif.
- Harmonic, a provider of broadcast and on-demand video delivery technology,
said on Thursday that it has acquired Israel's Scopus Video Networks, a
maker of digital video networking products, in a deal valued at $50 million.
Sunnyvale,
Calif.-based Harmonic said that the acquisition strengthens its offerings for
the broadcast contribution and distribution markets, in addition to increasing
the global customer base.
Harmonic expects to realize cost synergies of $8-$10
million a year, once the companies become fully integrated.
