San Bruno, Calif. - Google's (NASD: GOOG) YouTube is playing host to live video streams of games from the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, through an extension of its partnership with CBS (NYSE: CBS) that has not been publicized by either company.

"This is a program that we are running with one of our long standing partners around popular premium content," a YouTube spokesperson told CNET News.com.

"We're excited that the YouTube community will have the opportunity to watch March Madness on YouTube and look forward to hearing from them about their experience."

It's possible the partnership was not promoted so that CBS could garner as much ad revenue as possible from its own March Madness on Demand player.

The YouTube channel streaming NCAA games also requires users to download the Microsoft Silverlight video plug-in that the official CBS players users.

The NCAA games may also be streamed live from sites including ESPN, AOL and Yahoo.
