Calif. - LimeLife, the operator
of a network of women-focused online and mobile sites, announced on Tuesday
that it has acquired Taptap, a provider of mobile and Web social communities.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Founded in 2007, San Mateo, Calif.-based Taptap has to date raised $2.5 million in venture capital for its service that enables user-generated content, brand-sponsored contests and a subscription-based virtual economy. Menlo Park, Calif.-based LimeLife said it will integrate Taptap's community features into its network of sites, which last month claimed more than 1 million unique visitors.
