Tel Aviv, Israel - Elron Electronic Industries announced that it has signed a deal to sell its 3DV Systems motion sensing camera technology unit to an undisclosed company, although Microsoft (NASD: MSFT) has been rumored to be interested in the firm.

Under the deal, expected to close in the second quarter, Elron will receive $3 million and its subsidiary Rafael Development Corp. will receive $4 million.

3DV developed a webcam-style interactive camera accessory, ZCam, for gaming and other applications.

Such a device could potentially be used as an accessory for Microsoft's Xbox 360, similar to Sony's EyeToy USB camera accessory for the PlayStation 3.
