New York - Skype, the Internet telephone service unit of eBay (NASD: EBAY), plans to launch an application that make its service available to users of Apple's (NASD: AAPL) iPhone tomorrow at a mobile industry trade show, and another in May that will enable its service for RIM's (NASD: RIMM) BlackBerry, Reuters reported. "The No. 1 request we get from customers is to make Skype available on iPhone. There's a pent-up demand," Skype COO Scott Durchslag told Reuters.

The company already offers mobile applications for Google's (NASD: GOOG) Android mobile operating system, Nokia (NYSE: NOK) handsets and Microsoft's (NASD: MSFT) Windows Mobile platforms.

Skype's iPhone application will work over a Wi-Fi connection on both the iPhone and iPod touch.

Calls will be free between Skype users, while fees will apply when calling a non-Skype number.

"We're considering video carefully but we have a really high bar on the quality," Durchslag told Reuters. "If we do it we will have to do it incredibly well."
