Washington
- The Future of Music Coalition (FMC), a non-profit organization that works to educate
and advocate for greater digital rights for musicians, has released a set of
"Principles for Musician Compensation in New Business Models." Among
other things, the principles say that artists should have the right to audit
how revenues from their works are handled by record labels; and that labels and
copyright owners should only garner a cut of artists' revenues for three years
after a recording is released.
