Women's Web Network Glam Media Raises $10 Million

Tokyo - Glam Media, a network of women-focused websites that counts over 1,000 publishers, announced on Monday that it has raised $10 million in a fifth round of venture capital financing, led by Mizuho Venture Capital.

Other investors included Japanese ad agencies Dentsu and ADK, magazine publishers Shogagukan and Syueisya, and news and print publisher NikkeiBP, who are partnering with Glam for a new joint venture in Japan, Glam Media Japan KK.

Hubert Burda Media also announced an additional second round investment in its joint venture with Glam Media in Germany, which was formed in July 2008.

Glam's network for women reaches 103 million unique monthly visitors globally, and 51 million in the U.S., according to comScore.

The company will use the funds to continue expansion in the U.S., as well as to significantly grow its international presence in Japan and Germany.
