Self-Publishing Service Author Solutions Acquires Trafford

Bloomington, Ind. - Author Solutions, a provider of self-publishing services for authors, announced that it has acquired the publishing assets of Canada-based Trafford Publishing, for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 1995, Trafford has to date published more than 15,000 authors from over 120 countries.

Indiana-based Author Services said it published more than 21,000 titles in 2008, and counts a catalog of more than 120,000 titles from over 85,000 authors.

The company acquired self-publishing rival Xlibris earlier this year.

"As more and more authors turn to indie book publishing, we are seeing strong double-digit growth in North America as well as the UK, and we believe the time is right to accelerate our international expansion," said Authors Solutions president and CEO Kevin Weiss.

"The Trafford brand gives us a platform to help more writers become published authors around the globe."
