Calif. - Cooliris, a provider of
visual-based Web browsing applications, has raised $15 million in its second
round of venture capital financing and released its Cooliris Wall application.
Investors in the round included Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, DAG Ventures, The Westly Group and the T-Mobile Venture Fund. Palo Alto, Calif.-based Cooliris' new Wall application lets users scan a 3D "wall" of content from social media sites like YouTube and Facebook; professional news and entertainment sources; and their own computers. The company said that "tens of millions" of users have downloaded its product, with daily unique download counts "topping 50,000"; Cooliris for iPhone has also been downloaded over 800,000 times.
