Universal City, Calif. - NBC Universal's (NYSE: GE) NBC.com announced on Thursday that its NBC Rewind streaming video player has now delivered over one billion full episodes to users, since launching in October 2006. "Users are consistently and reliably using our Rewind player to catch up on their favorite shows and discover new ones," said Stephen Andrade, senior vice president of digital development and general manager of NBC.com. "Clearly, with over a billion 'served,' this has become a mainstream behavior."

NBC also said its mobile site streamed 2.4 million videos in the first quarter of 2009 -- more than it did in all of 2008.

The network's widgets, which allow NBC videos to be embedded on third-party sites, generated more than 43 million streams from January 2008 through March 2009.

From September through March, widget streams comprised 19% of all short-form videos streamed by NBC.
