Susan Boyle Hits 100M YouTube Views; Not Being MonetizedAuthored by Mark Hefflinger on April 21, 2009 - 10:23am.
San Francisco - The YouTube (NASD: GOOG) video of 48-year-old Susan Boyle
surprising the audience on "Britain's Got Talent" with her rendition
of "I Dreamed a Dream" already has 100 million views in nine days,
and could become the most-watched in the site's history -- but has not yet been
monetized with ads, Wired.com reported.
The article estimates that the video of
Boyle's performance could have already generated at least $500,000 for Sony BMG
and Fremantle, which own the rights to the talent search show and have
revenue-sharing agreements with YouTube.
