Palo Alto, Calif. - News Corp. (NYSE: NWS) is firing MySpace CEO and co-founder Chris DeWolfe, with the core MySpace executive team to depart the company as well, TechCrunch reported on Wednesday, citing anonymous sources. The report states that "a new CEO has already been recruited and is in the final stages of contract negotiations."

DeWolfe has been with the company since its launch in 2003, and oversaw the company's $580 acquisition by News Corp. in 2005.

Also reportedly on the way out will be MySpace president Tom Anderson and chief technology officer Aber Whitcomb, according to TechCrunch.
