Gannett Names New Publisher, Editor of USA Today
McLean, Va. - Gannett (NYSE: GCI), the publisher of 85 daily
newspapers, on Tuesday named David Hunke as the new president and publisher of
USA Today, which has the nation's largest print circulation at 2.1 million.
Hunke, currently the CEO of the Detroit Media Partnership and publisher of the
Detroit Free Press, succeeds Craig Moon, who retired on April 17. The company
also named John Hillkirk as the new editor of USA Today, succeeding Ken
Paulson, who left in February. Hillkirk is currently the paper's executive
editor.
