San Antonio, Texas - Clear Channel, the largest radio station owner in
the U.S.
with 900 stations, announced on Wednesday that it will lay off around 590
employees, following an earlier round of 1,850 layoffs in January.
Additionally,
PaidContent reported that the current round of layoffs could reach as many as
1,000, citing what CEO Mark Mays said earlier today on an internal conference
call.
The layoffs are expected to hit the company's programming, engineering
and customer service employees.
