San Diego - Slacker, the developer of a personalized Web-based radio service and accompanying portable media player, has raised $9.6 million of an expected $10.2 million new round of financing, PaidContent reported, citing a regulatory filing.

Nine investors participated, and while the company did not name them in the filing, past backers include Centennial Ventures, Rho Ventures, Austin Ventures, Mission Ventures and Sevin Rosen Funds.

Founded in 2007, San Diego-based Slacker's music service tailors playlists based on a user's musical preferences; these playlists can then be automatically updated and downloaded to the company's Slacker music player device.

The company has raised a total of over $68 million to date, including a $5 million round announced in January.
