San Diego - Loop'd Network, a sports-focused online social
network, said on Thursday that it has secured an additional $800,000 in funding
from existing backers, and new investor Tech Coast Angels.
Launched in November
2007, San Diego-based Loop'd lets youth
athletes promote themselves and network; the site claims 500,000 registered
members, and partnerships with over 400 brands.
The company will use the funds
to accelerate development of its social merchandising e-commerce strategy.
