- Joanna Shields has resigned as the president of AOL's (NYSE: TWX) People Networks,
company CEO Tim Armstrong revealed in a memo to employees, published by Silicon
Alley Insider.
Shields had been the CEO of online social network Bebo, which
AOL acquired last year.
Armstrong said that she plans to return to London to "reunite
her family and explore her entrepreneurial interests."
She will continue
to serve as an advisor to the company, focusing on acquisitions and new
ventures. No replacement has been announced.
