Fla. - Cliqset, a platform that aims
to help developers and users create, organize and share social information on
the Web, desktop and mobile environments, announced on Monday that it has
raised $1.5 million in angel funding, from Vurv Technology founder Derek Mercer.
Jacksonville, Fla.-based Cliqset also launched the second beta release of its platform on Monday, which integrates data from more than 30 third-party social networking services and applications, allowing developers and users to push and pull information from Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and other sites. The new release includes location-based capabilities, which integrate with Brightkite, Fire Eagle and Twitter. Cliqset has also launched a developer challenge that will award $30,000 in prizes to those creating new uses for the platform.
