CBS News to Syndicate Live Video on Ustream

New York - CBS News (NYSE: CBS) has partnered with Internet video broadcasters Ustream to launch its own live video channel that will simulcast live CBS News broadcasts online.

Ustream will provide live feeds of "CBS Evening News With Katie Couric," in addition to breaking news coverage, presidential press conferences, Congressional hearings, and online-only content.

While CBS has streamed its evening news program on its own site since 2006, the company said it wants to expand its reach to younger viewers.

"What we've realized is that, as opposed to just keeping all your content on your own Web site in a proprietary manner, we are better off pushing our own news content to as many sources as we can," CBS News president Sean McManus told The Times.
