San Francisco
- CBS-owned (NYSE: CBS) publishing house Simon & Schuster has announced plans to make
5,000 titles available for purchase and download through document-sharing
website Scribd. The publisher will price e-books at 20% off the list price of
the most recent print edition. Scribd provides publishers with an 80% cut of
revenue from titles sold through its site, which told The New York Times it is
also working on a reading application for the iPhone that should launch in the
coming weeks.
