Founded in 2007, Ireland-based eRepublik has developed a massively multiplayer online strategy game of the same name, in which players join in local and national politics, set economic policy, start businesses and wage wars with other countries. Since launching almost a year and a half ago, the game has attracted 350,000 citizen accounts, and counts 120,000 active players. The company will use the funds to support its eRepublik game, as well as to launch new games based on the eRepublik platform.
