Santa Monica, Calif. - Geodelic, the developer of a local discovery application, announced on Monday that it has secured $3.5 million in funding from Clearstone Venture Partners, where the company was incubated, and Shasta Ventures.

The company also announced that it partnered with T-Mobile USA to develop an application called Sherpa for the forthcoming T-Mobile myTouch 3G.

Santa Monica, Calif.-based Geodelic was founded in 2008 by Rahul Sonnad, whose previous venture, the Platform, was acquired by Comcast in 2006.

"Sherpa is a local discovery application that learns a user's favorite types of locations and preferences over time. The more it's used, the more it customizes itself to the user's taste, learning their likes and dislikes so it can prioritize recommended and relevant local retailers, restaurants and attractions," the company said.

Geodelic will offer Sherpa on the Android mobile platform this summer, and plans to expand to other devices and platforms later this year.
