Frazoo Acquires Ad Network BrandClikAuthored by Mark Hefflinger on June 23, 2009 - 6:56am.
Reston, Va. - Frazoo, a San Diego-based search
engine company offering pay-per-click advertising, said on Tuesday that it has
acquired in-text ad network BrandClik.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Joshua Konowe, the co-founder and CEO of BrandClik, will continue to work out of the company's current offices for the immediate future, a company spokesman said. Frazoo said that the acquisition will allow it to offer in-text ads to clients looking for an alternative to online bidding networks. BrandClik's technology tags brand name keywords and creates links to a chosen website that aren't activated until a user manually clicks them. The company, founded last year by Konowe and Lowell Perry, calls its platform non-intrusive compared with other ad methods. BrandClik's clients include online newspapers, blogs, websites and local and national advertisers.
