Facebook Names David Ebersman as New CFO

Palo Alto, Calif. - Online social network Facebook on Monday named David Ebersman, former chief financial officer at biotech firm Genentech, as its new CFO.

"[Ebersman] was Genentech's CFO while revenue tripled, and his success in scaling the finance organization of a fast growing company will be important to Facebook," said Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

Ebersman was CFO at Genentech from 2006 through 2009, when the company was sold to Roche for $46.8 billion.

He replaces Gideon Yu at Facebook, who stepped down as CFO in March.
